Yele Strasser-King

Yele Strasser-King 2015 Humanitarian Leadership Award Honoree

Yele Strasser-King has been happily married for over two decades to Raymond Strasser-King, and blessed with 3 wonderful children.
She attended St. Anthony’s Primary School and St. Joseph’s Secondary, Freetown, Sierra Leone where she was house captain and senior prefect. She also worked at the American Life Insurance Company while in college. She decided to join her sister in the U.S., in 1985 residing in Dallas, Texas. She continued her education in Healthcare attending Brookhaven College and working at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital. Mr and Mrs Srasser-King
She was subsequently convinced to relocate to Los Angeles to join her future husband. In L.A. she worked at Tarzana Hospital, Encino, High Desert Medical Group, and currently works at UCLA Health System. Mrs Strasser-King and her Children
Yele obtained her B.S. (Cum Laude) in Health Science Psychology and Human Behavior. She is currently in her final year pursuing a Masters in Healthcare Administration. At UCLA she advocated for a global health initiative inclusion of Sierra Leone and played an active role in acquiring Ebola medical supplies from UCLA Global Health for Sierra Leone. Yele is an active member of the Sierra Leonean Community in Los Angeles advocating for better healthcare back home.
